I'll try to keep things short and to the point!
- I'm a twenty something living in North Carolina.
- I grew up in a wonderful, loving, and adventurous family that deals with most things through humor. I choose to handle most things in my life accordingly.
- Most of my life I’ve been an overachiever. I graduated from college with honors. I started seminary on a full-tuition scholarship as the only girl in a group of about 9 men.
- I took a semester-long sabbatical during college to work as a short-term IMB missionary in Swaziland. It was, at the time, the hardest best thing I’ve ever done. I went alone and lived with an incredible Swazi family. I taught bible studies in primary schools and with local women and worked with HIV/AIDS orphans and herded goats. It changed my life.
- I’ve been married to a wonderful, brilliant, and patient man since August 2009. As my parents say, “we thank God for him everyday!”
- I’m employed as a Health Coach for a great company in a job I love, most of the time.
- I have a dog who thinks she’s a person named Maggie and a quirky cat named Coco.
- Three years ago my life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with type II bipolar.
- I love running, baking, cooking, shoes, beer (mostly microbrews because of my beer snob husband), wine, good food, sleeping, movies, coffee, long conversations about important things, and being outside especially in the mountains. I'm a regular girl next door.
- I am a Christ follower. I’m not “religious;” I have a relationship. By His grace I have peace and hope. Christ’s work in my life redeems my ever broken state and I am made new and whole.
